I’m Michelle, founder of Fenwick Pets. I’m so incredibly happy you’re here.
Fenwick Pets grew out of two of my passions - interior design and puppies. During the pandemic, my husband Elijah and I built our dream home from the ground up. Working with design architects, our intention was to create a space that was modern, functional, but also beautiful. The house being on the smaller side, it was really important to us that we maximize the use of every inch for functionality and aesthetics. We wanted a home that made sense to live in for a growing family, that also looked chic as hell. Not a lot to ask for, right?
During this time, a lot of our friends and family got puppies. Elijah and I have always dreamed of getting a dog of our own, so I began to take note of the pup accessories in people’s homes, especially their beds. It was typically the largest non-furniture piece in a room, meaning it stuck out whether or not it tied into the room’s decor. Even if it was relegated to a corner, you would still notice the huge lumpy brown bed from Costco (no shade, I love me some Costco but it’s not the epitome of home fashion).
Because I was going through this huge design process with the house, I started to do some research - which dog bed would look great in our home for our future pup? Turns out, a lot of the options out there are mainly function-based and not really aesthetically pleasing (sorry Costo bed).
Coming from an e-commerce background, I decided to strike out on my own and create a different option for people who love their pups, using the same approach we took when building our home. With that in mind, I sought to design pieces that would be an intentional part of the home, both functionally and aesthetically.
I’m proud to say that our Fenwick beds are the best of both worlds - they’re stylish to seamlessly fit into your decor, while also providing a comfy place for your dog to rest.
Our signature linen-style fabric is stylish yet dig-resistant and machine washable, and the high-density insert is stuffed with fibres made from recycled plastics.
As I write this, two incredibly exciting things are happening in our home: I’m launching Fenwick Pets to the world in the coming weeks, and we are bringing home an adorable pup of our own in a few short days. I can’t wait to share more of our journey with you as we raise a dog, maintain a beautiful home and launch this exciting new business all at the same time.
